“Aspiring to be a PNPA Cadet”

PNPA

Worrying in my future whether I can be directly employed after graduation or not, and with the doubt If I can survive my self in sending me in 4th year in college urge me to aspire as one of the Cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). Their program really admires me to grab it as an opportunity in my career.

It was on October 29, 2006 when I took the PNPA Cadet Admission Test at University of Southern Philippines, Davao City. Before that I mail my duly accomplished application to the Academy and acquire a permit to take the said exam. I prepare myself before that day. I travel to Davao City around 4 o’clock in the early dawn just to arrive at the examination center early.

The PNPA releases the results of the exam on December 18, 2006. how lucky I am, I am one of the passer of the PNPA-CAT. I am so glad and excited. I am advise to report at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City for the next processing w/c includes Gen. Physical Examination, Physical Fitness Test, Electrocardiogram (ECG), and interview on February 12, 2007. this is a weeklong processing and that I need to stay there for 2 weeks.

A big accomplishment in my part but a huge problem on me. I don’t have any money to be used in my transportation and my stay to Manila. I have never gone before on that place. I don’t know the people there! I don’t have any relatives there. I worried all of that things but I used all of my means to be on that date.

What a coincidence! That on that tactical day of our ROTC of w/c I am an Adjutant, the Grant in Aid Allowance for Scholars in Philippine Army was released on us. I receive a total cash of 10,000 pesos. That’s really a big aid on me on the processing. I buy my own celfon, athletics’ attires, and secure all of the necessary requirements. I come to the office of Con. Dodo Cagas and meet Mr. Rolly Impas and he help me by giving me a cash of 1,000 pesos. My parents also adds an amount in my allowance. I secure my round trip ticket at Cebu Pacific. I have also secure my excuse letter in my class and file a 2 weeks leave in my STAP at UM Bansalan College. Finally I flight to Manila in my own course.

I report and stay there as a bed spacer. I reported at PPSC Campus, Taguig City and took the processing. Now…a big problem base on the result of the panoramic X-Ray, my wisdom tooth was impacted. I have to “paopera” para mabunot ” that tooth. I call my parent in Mindanao to ask an amount to be paid on that operation. They replied…”KUNG DILE NA NIMO MAKAYA…ULI NA LANG!!!!”. I was so depressed when I heard that from them. I never detected that my tears flows in my eyes and face. But I try to be strong and said to myself “I WAS ALREADY HERE….I HAVE ALREADY STARTED IT……THEREFORE…I HAVE TO FINISHED AND COMPLETE IT!!!!!”. I never undergo the operation as I plan. I have completed the processing.

I go back in Mindanao and wait for the results of the processing. No more text I receive that I passed meaning my processing was failure. I am so depressed…. Still I try to be strong; I thought to myself that it is God’s Will , if I were admitted maybe I’ll be died inside the academy; how worst!

But my willingness to be a part of the academy doesn’t ends there.  I took again the examination the following years, hurdles the PNPA-CAT but failed in the processing for the 2nd time.
